When we are logged in as Tutors, Beebop's Home Page displays a list of all the classes we are currently involved with.

The default setting hides all the classes that have already concluded, but we can choose to show them by changing the display preferences with the 'cog' button on the right of the screen.

Clicking on each Class will take us to the list of Modules we are teaching within that class.

Here we can use the ‘add to home page’ button for the modules we access the most, to save having to open the class each time we want to get to the module.

If clicking on a module we end up seeing this screen…

…it means that we are not registered as the main tutor for this module; we will have to wait for the main tutor to finish setting up the module, or ask an administrator to make us the main tutor for this module.

If we are registered to be the main tutor for this module we will be prompted to create the discussion channel and some content for this Class (unless this was already created for us by an Administrator).

Let's click on the button to create the Class Channel for this module.
By default, the channel's name will be the same as the module; normally this is the best option, but we can edit this name if necessary.

All the students of this class will be added automatically to the channel.

On the bottom of the Module's content page we can see the shortcut for the channel we have just created, and a button to open the Class Members page, where we can see the list of our students and their attendance records.

About the Module’s content

When we are given the role of Main Tutor for a new class, we may find that its course content has already been created for us by a school administrators. If not, we are prompted to create our own new content for this class.

'Creating new content' actually means creating a new version of content for this Module and this particular Class (see Module Content and Content Versions); if unsure about what this means, the safest option is to create 'new from master' – if a Master version existed we will inherit all that content and use this as our starting point for further edits, and if not this will just create an empty shell which we can later fill with our own notes, PDF files, assignments, etc.

If for whatever reason our content is not hosted on Beebop it is still a good idea to create some skeleton content here to host a page with directions and links to where the content can be found.

Example

Here is an example of what we would see when creating new content: a front page with the module's cover image and title, and an edit button to add pages and assignments.
